Growing up, I’ve always been drawn to contrast, bold lines, and the captivating colors in my environment as well as my city. Being a native San Antonian I noticed the art scene was very small and niche, focusing on history, sports, and the beautiful Mexican-American heritage. While those are significant to the undying heart of the city, there’s so much more to explore locally that hasn’t been showcased to the public.

Translating how I view the world onto a canvas is freeing as well as necessary to me. Showcasing a different style of art style in San Antonio not only as a native, but as a female Black artist adds another layer of purpose. I strive for authenticity and freedom in my pieces as well as capturing the wacky-ness of the world around me.
